Introducing an innovative web scraping tool designed to compile the "Areas of Expertise" of academic staff across three colleges at Swansea University. This tool transforms this valuable information into a user-friendly, searchable, and filterable web interface.

Powered by a Python script running daily via GitHub Actions, our tool gathers data from the publicly accessible staff profiles on Swansea.ac.uk. This data is then consolidated into a single file and made available through a public interface. This interface facilitates exploration of areas of expertise, connecting users with similar interests and knowledge.

N.B. this application relies on the structure of the university: any changes in the web structure may affect the functionality of the app.
